Brother Benson Nyang’or is a prophetic teacher and intercessor with a passion for seeing holistic community transformation in his nation of Kenya and in the nations. He has served as a pastor, teacher and Prayer minister in a local church in Nairobi Kenya as well as with various prayer networks in rallying the body of Christ to pray to attract the presence of God into communities and nations according to the divine invitation that ‘if my people who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, I will forgive their sins and heal their land. (2 Chronicles7:14).
Benson’s heart cry is for a strong united church and so he has been instrumental in rallying the church in Kenya towards the unity of the body through platforms such as the Global Day of Prayer which he has coordinated in Kenya as well as the God Bless Kenya Prayer Initiative of which he was one of the founding ministers. He has served as an assistant pastor with Christ co-workers fellowship (Chrisco) in Nairobi and is currently serving as a prayer minister and trainer with Intercessors For Kenya Ministries (I4K) in Nairobi, a ministry he co-founded with others with a mandate to heal and to raise mighty men and women of valor for the end times and to see communities invaded by the HolySpirit to bring about holistic community transformation.
Benson was born and raised up in the Nyanza region of Kenya. His late mother, raised by pioneer American missionaries serving under the African Inland Mission, and later a firebrand of the East African Revival, had a major influence on the young Benson’s life. Her Christian lifestyle and commitment in the place of prayer influenced him so much that he enrolled for a correspondence course with Emmaus Bible College (Nairobi) while still in Primary School. In 1990 Benson re-committed himself to walk with Christ and answer the call to ministry. He is grateful for seeds planted in his life by the Navigators while he studied at the University of Nairobi and to Pst Aggrey Ayiro who discipled and mentored him under the Christ co-workers fellowship. He has served the Lord in various ministry roles and positions .His current passion is to see a mature and united body of Christ rising as a bride ready and prepared to dwell forever with her bridegroom King.
Benson is married to June and they are blessed with four daughters namely Sophie, Joy, Beracah and Olive.
